The Pain and Addiction Research Center (PARC) at UCSF began in 2019, with a mission to accelerate science related to pain and addiction to advance and improve care. While PARC had its roots in the pain research and pain clinical therapy areas, they have since expanded to address the intersection of pain management and addiction. PARC operates using an innovative multidisciplinary model to address pain, with leadership from UCSF's diverse professional schools (e.g., pharmacy, dentistry, etc.) and more than 100 faculty members and trainees.
